Dogwood Trail Boundary Survey

Big Thicket Natural Heritage Trust | Tyler County, Texas

Shine | DCCM completed the Dogwood Trail boundary survey for a privately held timber company tract in Tyler County, Texas. The project required boundary determination along with detailed research of historical and current survey records.

The team reviewed Texas General Land Office archives, Hardin County records, and private survey records. During fieldwork, surveyors located existing occupation, monumentation, topographic features, and natural features throughout the project area.

Next, the team analyzed the field evidence and compared it with recorded evidence. Where appropriate, surveyors marked lines with lathes with intervisibility.

Shine | DCCM also prepared plats showing trails and natural features for park use. In addition, the team prepared metes-and-bounds descriptions for use in the land transfer.

The work ultimately supported the transfer of a 40-acre partition to Big Thicket Natural Heritage Trust.
